This is mighty fine, and as an example of 35mm work, even
better than your other entry. |

A fine dramatic shot which I find most attractive. The
lack of grain is very commendable and I particularly like the dark sky
with the lovely white steam. |

This reminds me of your entry in the last folio. Again, I
like the tonal range and the way you have preserved your whites. Very good
35mm technique. (By the way, why will some critics persist in saying
"definition is good for 35mm", or "a good 35mm shot"?
Definition is either good or bad regardless of negative size). |

Surely, this wasn't the L'Pool-Glasgow with a 'Princess'
as the train engine - more likely to be the Birmingham-Glasgow. I look at
this as an "impressionist" picture, and as such it most
certainly comes off - it has got Shap beautifully. |

This is really excellent, but I would like another
½" in the foreground. The ganger's hut is a menace, as I expect most
of us have found at one time or another. |

This is good. We do not often manage such dramatic
effects as this - quite the best effect of smoke and steam we have seen
for some time. Well done! |
